On Monday, global stock markets tumbled more than 3 percent, apparently in reaction to the continuing spread of the coronavirus or COVID-19. The latest increase in cases hit South Korea, Iran and Italy.
While world markets and national governments focus on COVID-19’s spread, annual flu season is still very much underway. In parts of the world, cases are decreasing. But the World Health Organization says North America still has elevated levels.
An upcoming play presented by American River College explores the experience of a young girl in the 1960s during the Civil Rights era. "North Star" opens this weekend with performances through March 8.
