Gov. Gavin Newsom announced yesterday that the state will provide $42 million in funding to help support children and at-risk families across California.
Some of the money will go directly to the foster care system, while relief will be extended for the 200 children every month who are emancipated.
We check in with a pair of surrounding counties on state relief and the support still needed.
