A wave of young people is coming out as transgender, leaving the health system struggling to keep up. Trans teenager Michael Alongi was born in a female body and he wants to transition in a more permanent way, but he faces obstacles to gender-affirming care because of his age.

He and his mother, Jeanne, join Insight to discuss why it’s important for kids like him to get access to appropriate health care.
