Even though Sacramento has designated itself the “Farm-to-Fork” capitol – Farm to Fork Week 2015 is just about to begin – there are still plenty of people in our region facing food insecurity on a daily basis. With a communal commitment to end hunger in the region, a number of organizations have teamed up together for the second annual Farm to Every Fork dinner. The sit-down dinner – which features some of the best local farms and producers – has a twist. Tickets to the benefit buy dinner for you and also fund a meal for another invited guest who has experienced poverty and food insecurity. We’ll talk with Chef Brenda Ruiz with Slow Food Sacramento, one of the organizers of the event, and hear from two of the beneficiaries, River City Food Bank and Oak Park Sol Community Gardens.
