Hikers and campers were airlifted out of Yosemite Sunday as a fire near Half Dome quickly grew out of control. The Meadow Fire had been burning in Yosemite’s little valley since Aug. 16 but hadn’t posed a threat until this past weekend. Pascale Fusshoeller is the publisher of Yubanet, a fire monitoring news service, and she’s been following the fire since the initial lighting strike in mid August. She joins us to explain the problems fires like these pose for firefighters.
