Protesters against police brutality and racial injustice continued across the country Tuesday night.

Several hundred protesters marched in Sacramento. Demonstrations at the state Capitol remained largely peaceful.

It came on a day dubbed ‘Blackout Tuesday’ - an effort on social media to amplify the voices of protesters and messages against systemic racism.

But the movement face criticism with users claiming #BlackLivesMatter and #BLM hashtags diluted feeds and buried the posts that actually needed to be seen.

Today we check in on what happened in Sacramento last night and social media’s role during times of unrest.

Guests

  • CapRadio news reporter Sarah Mizes-Tan
  • UC Davis academic director Dr. Andy Jones
  • Award-winning writer and educator Indigo Moor
  • Sacramento Police Chief Daniel Hahn
