Sacramento Police Chief Daniel Hahn.

Capital Public Radio

As we mark the end of 2017, it has been quite an eventful year for Sacramento’s new police Chief Daniel Hahn.

In office for a little more than a hundred days, Hahn has taken steps to improve police community relations with outreach programs in neighborhoods like Roseville and has improved transparency in the department by voluntarily releasing bodycam footage to the public.

However, some are questioning the morale of officers at the department and whether he is able to retain talented officers moving into 2018.

Chief Hahn returns to Insight to discuss the outlook for 2018 and some of the new programs being implemented into the New Year.
