Last year capped a record-breaking year for Connor Poggetto. He set multiple world records as a disabled water skier and helped the U.S. Disabled Water Ski team earn a gold medal.
Poggetto was born with Spastic Paraplegia, a progressive, inherited disease causing weakness and stiffness in the legs. A Sacramento and Lake Tahoe resident, Poggetto was named the 2019 International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation’s Disabled Male Athlete of the Year in January. He talks about his recent honor and the ongoing training he does for his sport in the summer.
