The McGeorge School of Law is hosting an event tonight to mark the creation of a new endowed chair named after retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, who joined the McGeorge faculty in 1965. The “Justices on Justice” panel includes:
- Retired Justice Anthony M. Kennedy, United States Supreme Court; Professor, McGeorge School of Law
- Presiding Judge Ann Power-Forde, Constitutional Court Chamber of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC) in The Hague (and former Judge of the European Court of Human Rights (elected in respect of Ireland))
- Former Justice Joseph Grodin, California Supreme Court; Professor Emeritus, UC Hastings College of Law
- Judge Wolfgang Brandstetter, Constitutional Court of Austria; Former Professor at the Institute of Criminal Law and Criminology, University of Vienna
The event will be moderated by McGeorge constitutional law scholar Prof. Leslie Gielow Jacobs. They will discuss issues of free speech, discrimination, religious liberty, the nature of human dignity, and the difference between positive and natural rights across the globe.Seats for the event are sold out, but you can watch the event livestream on YouTube below.
