The Sacramento French Film Festival begins this weekend and features films that tackle timely issues.

Opening night features "This Land is Our Land (Chez Nous)," which is a thinly veiled assault on France's far-right party, the Front National.

The festival closes with a rumination on what it means to be alive in "Heal the Living." Executive Director Cécile Mouette Downs joins us to preview the 16th annual film festival.
