Former Olympic gymnasts Jamie Dantzscher and Jeanette Antolin speak with Insight host Beth Ruyak about what it means to tell their stories now to prevent future sexual abuse.

Olympians who were abused by former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar spoke in support of legislation Monday that would make California the first state to require doctors to tell their patients if they are on probation by the medical board for wrongdoing, including sexual misconduct.

This is the third introduction of some version of SB 1448. The California Medical Association has opposed previous versions of the bill. The physicians’ lobbying group hasn’t taken a formal position on this legislation, but in a statement, CMA President Theodore Mazer said the bill doesn’t allow for due process for doctors.

After the press conference, Insight host Beth Ruyak spoke with Jamie Dantzscher and Jeanette Antolin about why they're telling their stories now and how they hope to help others.

Sally Schilling and the Associated Press contributed to this report.
