California produces 98 percent of the world’s rice and it goes to some of the most struggling societies in Africa and Asia. So is there an answer to food and disease problems with genetically changed, but still organic food? Professor Pamela Ronald is a UCDavis plant geneticist and is the guest at Wednesday's Science Café in Davis. She has researched and co-authored a book titled “Tomorrow’s Table: Organic Farming, Genetics and the Future of Food” that Bill Gates described as “a fantastic piece of work.”
