The Walker Fire in Plumas County Sept. 6, 2019.

U.S. Forest Service-Plumas National Forest

Forest fires have cost California millions of trees and dollars in funding in recent years.

The state is already in the midst of fire season as the coronavirus pandemic continues on, making reforestation and reseeding efforts far more challenging. Most of the country shut down as the crisis heightened in March, and so did much of the forestry work going on in California.

We hear more about that work of getting seedlings into the ground and the reforestation efforts going on across the state.

Guests

  • Sierra Nevada Conservancy Executive Officer Angela Avery
  • Feather River Resource Conservation District Manager in the Sacramento Valley Brad Graevs
