The fires in California, both in the northern and southern parts of the state, continue to rage. With the power out and successive evacuations, this was news statewide and across the country.

Carla Marinucci, who writes POLITICO’s California Playbook joins us to talk about power outages in the Bay Area, shares some comments from former Gov. Jerry Brown, who’s been warning that climate change will create a “new normal” and the ire of current Gov. Gavin Newsom at PG&E.

Then, we’ll pivot to the weekend’s news from Washington, DC, including the announced resignation of Southern California Congressmember Katie Hill amid a sexual harassment scandal, the non-notification to Congressional Democrats (including House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi) about the raid and eventual death of Isis leader, Abu Omar al-Baghdadi. And how the polls are looking for presidential candidate and California US Sen. Kamala Harris.
