Sen. Kamala Harris, an early frontrunner in the crowded field of Democrats running for president, made an appearance in Sacramento on Monday. POLITICO’s California Playbook reporter Carla Marinucci joins Insight to discuss the event and Harris’ campaign.

She’ll also explain the latest news about California’s members of Congress, including the Republican backlash against Rep. Adam Schiff. Schiff, now head of the House Intelligence Committee, has become a face of the probe into President Donald Trump's dealings with Russia.

He faced criticism from Republican leaders and the president himself over a tweet he posted about the president.

I say this to the President, and his defenders in Congress:

You may think it’s okay how Trump and his associates interacted with Russians during the campaign.

I don’t.

I think it’s immoral. I think it’s unethical. I think it’s unpatriotic. And yes, I think it’s corrupt. pic.twitter.com/nTdgRVfssQ

— Adam Schiff (@RepAdamSchiff) March 28, 2019

Marinucci will also talk about Rep. Kevin McCarthy breaking with President Trump over his attempt to invalidate the Affordable Care Act in court.
