Sacramento, CA
Stockton Mayor Anthony Silva has invited environmental activist Erin Brockovich to scrutinize the city’s use of chloramines in its drinking water –a decision Mayor Silva voted in favor of in 2013. Silva moderated a public forum featuring Brockovich Monday night that examines the pros and cons of using chloramines to disinfect some of Stockton’s drinking water.
Stockton Record Columnist Michael Fitzgerald is skeptical of the mayor’s about-face on chloramines. He thinks the public forum Monday night is Mayor Silva trying to raise his public profile in an election season. Fitzgerald joins us to talk more about what he thinks is going on in Stockton’s water.
