In the time since the Stephon Clark police shooting, there has been a more revealing public discussion about the experience of being black in Sacramento.

Insight with Beth Ruyak has been continuing those discussions by talking with people who have powerful voices in this community and a willingness to share how those experiences have shaped their lives and careers.

Today, Ruyak speaks with KCRA TV News Director Lori Waldon about a career covering the events of the day in the Sacramento region.

Waldon grew up in Berkeley and graduated from USC. Before joining KCRA, she was news director at the Hearst station in Milwaukee, becoming the first African-American news director in both Milwaukee and in Wisconsin.
