Invisible disabilities are conditions that limit a person’s movements, senses, or activities but are invisible to the onlooker. Since these conditions are often not apparent to others, they can present unique challenges and misunderstandings to the people who live with them. The Invisible Disabilities Comedy Show allows performers living with tremors, stutters, mental illnesses or other conditions to use humor to explore and destigmatize their experiences.

The show’s producers, Aliada and Drew Kimzey, return to Insight to give an update about the series, which was picked up by Punchline Sacramento as a monthly special. Their next performance will be Sunday at 7 p.m.

Beyond their work as performers, the pair will talk about the social value of comedy, how their shows benefit performers and audiences, and the importance of destigmatizing talk about invisible disabilities.
