California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

The Political Junkie Ken Rudin is turning his analytical gaze west. Known to NPR listeners from his many years talking all things politics with Neal Conan on "Talk of the Nation," joins Insight host Beth Ruyak for our signature segment that puts California politics in the context of the national scene. Rudin joins us from Washington D.C. in an effort to put it all in perspective.

Today Rudin discusses California Gov. Gavin Newsom announcing he'll rescind former Gov. Jerry Brown's deployment of California National Guard troops to the Mexican border, pulling most of 360 troops off their current missions. He also weighs in on the crowded Democratic primary field and Sen. Amy Klobuchar announcing her run for president.
