Paul David Gibson / Fickr It’s being billed as a “night of uncensored honesty about brewing, the business of beer and Lagunitas’ story to this point.” Tony Magee, founder of Lagunitas Brewing Company in Petaluma, will speak at New Helvetia Brewing tonight as part of Sacramento Beer Week’s “Beer Talks” series. Magee founded Lagunitas in 1993 on a shoestring budget and has overseen the venture over the past 20 years. It is now the 5th largest craft brewery in the United States, with an international distribution deal with Heineken. We’ll talk with Magee about the business of craft beer and how it’s changed since he first started out. Sacramento Beer Week runs through March 6 with a variety of beer-related events around town.
