In 2016, Insight talked with the producers of Inner View Productions, who had come to discuss a screening of their movie, “Vietnam: An Inner View,” which was happening in Murphys, California.

That conversation was heard by a woman named Deb Franklin. She brought her husband, war veteran Doug Mitten, to the screening in Murphys, and after watching the film, Mittin opened up to his wife about his service in Vietnam for the first time.

Now, Mitten, who suffers from PTSD and serves as a mentor for Sacramento County Veteran's Treatment Court, hopes to bring that same experience to Sacramento veterans.

The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 500 is presenting the film, “Vietnam: An Inner View,” Sunday, March 11, at the Sacramento Public Library.

We’ll talk with Mitten and producer Lea Jones about the film that brought them together to help other veterans.
