A tradition since 1947, the Sacramento Armenian Food Festival returns Saturday, Oct. 22 to Trinity Cathedral Great Hall in Sacramento.
Presented by St. James Armenian Church, the festival celebrates traditional Armenian foods, music, dancing and culture.
This year’s event will feature foods from the Byzantine era. Two St. James Parishioners talk about the history behind Armenian dishes like kufteh (meatballs), cheese boureg (cheese and parsley stuffed film pockets) and baklava.
We’ll also learn what makes an Armenian dish Armenian.
