How SCOTUS Tariff Ruling Impacts CA
In a major blow against President Trump, the Supreme Court struck down wide-ranging tariffs imposed last year known as Liberation Day. The tariffs significantly impacted trade in California - a leader in global imports and exports - with businesses, employees and consumers shouldering the bulk of the cost. CalMatters Economy Reporter Levi Sumagaysay has been following Trump’s trade policy since the beginning. She joins us about the scope of these tariffs on California’s economy, as well as the impact of the SCOTUS ruling.
CalMatters is a nonprofit newsroom that partners with public media stations across the state.
NPR’s Student Podcast Challenge
NPR’s Student Podcast Challenge is back for its 8th year. Every year, thousands of students enter by making a podcast about whatever they want. The entries range from cute and comical, to the deeply personal. Submissions are currently being accepted for students from 4th to 12th grade and entries must be made before the May 31st deadline. You can apply here. Insight Senior Producer Andrew Garcia spoke with the founders of NPR’s Student Podcast Challenge Janet Woojeong Lee and Steve Drummond about this year’s festivities and the 8 years they’ve been at it.

‘In a Nutshell’ Storytelling Series
Who would we be without our family? When it comes to people who can truly influence and shape who we become, it’s those we grew up with who often leave the most lasting effects. Good or bad. “The People Who Made Us” is the theme of this month’s In a Nutshell storytelling series taking place this Friday, Feb. 27 at The Sofia in Sacramento. Two of the featured storytellers - Dr. Meghna Bhat and Joe Klocek - join us today, along with host Keith Lowell Jensen.
