California Pension Crisis: Richmond

The growing cost of pensions in California has forced a number of fiscally troubled cities to cut key services.

Among those is Richmond, which recently took several police officers off their payroll, reduced library access and street repairs and yet still remains at risk of bankruptcy.

CALmatters Reporter Judy Lin investigated Richmond’s response to the pension burden and how the problem may become worse for cities across California.
