Sands Hall’s Memoir Gets An Update

Sands Hall spent ten years of her life in the world of Scientology. Her memoir titled "Flunk Start" was published in 2018. it is now being released in paperback now with a new title, "Reclaiming My Decade Lost in Scientology" and a new cover. 

Hall’s memoir was named a Best Book in Religion and Spirituality by Publisher’s Weekly, was a finalist for the Northern California Book Award in Creative Nonfiction and was long-listed for the Golden Poppy Award in Nonfiction.  

Hall is also a musician. She’ll share music from her CD, "Rustler’s Moon."

Hall has two events coming up: 

  • A book signing event at Beers Books at 915 S. Street in Sacramento on Wednesday night, November 20 at 6 p.m. 

  • A concert, "Songs for Midwinter," at Miners Foundry Cultural Center at 325 Spring Street in Nevada City on Sunday, Dec. 29 from 3:00-5:30 p.m.
