Forest Service Interim Chief Discusses Changes To Handling Firefighting And Department Culture

Vicki Christiansen, interim chief of the U.S. Forest Service, joins Insight during Wildfire Awareness Week.

Vicki Christiansen was selected by U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue to serve as the interim chief of the U.S. Forest Service in March 2018.

She’s in California for Wildfire Awareness Week to talk about changes to how Congress funds the agency’s firefighting operations.

Christiansen has also been tasked with addressing harassment and retaliation of female employees in the agency.
