North Country Blue is a bluegrass quartet of young women who met through the California Bluegrass Association youth programs in 2017. Ida Winfree plays guitar and mandolin, Megan January plays upright bass, Daisy Kerr plays guitar and banjo, Tessa Schwartz plays fiddle, and all four musicians sing lead and harmony vocals. In their time together as a band, they have performed at the Strawberry Music Festival, Freight & Salvage in Berkeley, the Viva Las VeGrass festival, and many more festivals.

Their first full-length album was produced by mandolinist Sharon Gilchrist. North Country Blue is hosting an album release party at The Side Door in Sacramento on Friday, Feb. 1 at 7:00 p.m.
