Women in California politics are experiencing a moment in history. As their voices are amplified by the #WeSaidEnough campaign about sexual harassment in government, Toni Atkins takes over as the state’s first female State Senate President pro Tempore. But it’s been a long, arduous road for women to achieve progress in California government.

Steve and Suzie Swatt, longtime political communication professionals in Sacramento, are out with a new book called "Paving the Way: Women's Struggle for Political Equality in California" on their story.
