Gurucharan / Facebook One of the most respected and well-known Carnatic vocalists is visiting UC Davis on a Fullbright Scholarship teaching special classes in the departments of Religious Studies and Music. Sikkil Gurucharan was nominated for the Best Contemporary Jazz Album at the 51st Grammy Awards and he was featured among 35 Game Changers under the age of 35 in India by the magazine India Today. We'll talk with him about how he came to be a Fullbright Scholar, his work at UC Davis and what it means to carry on the Carnatic vocal tradition.
