Sparks Across Darkness is the stage name of Anthony Giovanini, an emcee and hip hop producer who grew up in Sacramento. He stopped by the Insight studio to speak with Insight producer Cody Drabble about his debut solo album, “Obscura.”

Anthony Giovanini brought his bandmates from Monsters and Thieves: turntablist DJ Nocturnal (Chris Jaime), vocalist TIP Viscious (Tyler Todd), drummer Mellø Hall and guest guitarist Dylan Jarman from Shotgun Sawyer.

You can see Sparks Across Darkness and his fellow Monsters and Thieves perform at an “Obscura” album release party for all ages on Saturday Aug. 18 at Momo Sacramento, with special guests Petaluma and Ode to Saturday.
