Infectious Diseases

There are some nasty infectious diseases taking up residence in Northern California this year. An outbreak of measles and a mysterious respiratory illness with polio-like paralysis are showing up in certain enclaves of our region where vaccination rates are lower than average. What’s happening and how can people protect themselves? 

Dr. Dean Blumberg, associate professor of pediatric infectious diseases at UC Davis Children's Hospital, has more on the various diseases.
