Placer County Approves Controversial Squaw Valley Expansion Project

After years of tenuous debate, the $1 billion Squaw Valley Expansion project has been approved.

The project will come with hundreds of new hotel rooms, trailhead construction a potential indoor water park over the course of 30 years.

The plans do not go without opposition. Local residents and environmental activists have expressed their concerns.

Sierra Sun Reporter Amanda Rhoades was at the Placer County Supervisor's meeting on Tuesday. She joins us to discuss what's next for Squaw Valley.
