A new study by the New England Journal of Medicine has concluded that peanut allergies can be prevented. The head of the research team, Dr. Gideon Lack, says exposing young children to small amounts of peanuts can stop that child from acquiring a peanut allergy later in life. This study comes at a time when a growing number of children are being diagnosed with peanut allergies and the findings could completely change the way allergists approach the treatment and prevention of allergies. Dr. Travis Miller is an allergist with The Allergy Station. He joins us to talk about how he’s interpreting the new findings.
