The UC Davis MIND Institute will host Dr. Kathryn Hirsh-Pasek for its ongoing Distinguished Lecturer Series today. Dr. Hirsh-Pasek is the author of a dozen books on learning and language acquisition. Her books include “Becoming Brilliant: What Science Tells us About Raising Successful Children” and “Einstein Never Used Flash Cards: How Our Children Really Learn and Why They Need to Play More and Memorize Less.”
At the MIND Institute lecture, she will discuss how “high quality language environments create high quality learning environments” and the six core principles of learning language. Dr. Hirsh-Pasek argues that there’s more to learning language than just reading.
You can see Dr. Hirsh-Pasek present at the UC Davis MIND Institute Auditorium in Sacramento today at 4:30 p.m. The event is free to the public, but seating is limited.
