The path to marriage equality was paved with LGBT civil rights legislation large and small. Capitol Bureau Chief Ben Adler speaks with three openly gay legislators about their journey in public service. First, Sen. Mark Leno and Asm. Susan Eggman share their personal stories and the legislative accomplishments of the LGBT Caucus. The, former Sen. Roy Ashburn recounts the DUI arrest that led to him coming out after 14 years in the Legislature and how he would have voted on LGBT civil rights bills.
