Health Aspect Of "Check Before You Burn"

If you have a chimney or wood-burning stove, you can’t just use it whenever you want. Residents and businesses are restricted or prohibited from using indoor or outdoor fireplaces, wood stoves, firepits and chimneys that burn wood, pellets, manufactured logs or any other solid fuel, when fine particle pollution is forecast to be elevated. And even though most people in the area comply with the rules, they don’t always understand the health reasons behind it. We’ll talk with a UC Davis doctor about why it’s important to Check Before You Burn.
