Actress, author and playwright Anna Deavere Smith is bringing her new one-woman show back to the communities she visited while researching the piece. Notes from the Field: Doing Time in Education, The California Chapter is about the school-to-prison pipeline. Smith spent time in Stockton, Davis and Klamath working on her Pipeline Project and, in addition to presenting excerpts of monologues from Notes from the Field, she will also share what she learned and encourage dialogue and action to address the school-to-prison pipeline.

"Notes from the Field: Doing Time in Education, The California Chapter" will be presented at 7 p.m. tonight at the Long Theatre at the University of the Pacific in Stockton. The performance is in conjunction with Fathers & Families of San Joaquin and is free and open to the public. Email pipelinetickets@gmail.com for information.
