China kicks off this week with the National People’s Congress and some key updates to their government; a new constitutional amendment will remove presidential term limits thus cementing President Xi Jinping’s position indefinitely. China’s being closely watched on the international stage as it seeks to overtake the United States’ economy.

Plus, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson travels to five African countries, and President Trump speaks with the embattled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

BBC World Service editor Pooneh Ghoddoosi explains these stories and more.
