Sacramento, CA
It’s been a busy week in both California’s capital and the nation's.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions has come under fire for his reported correspondence with the Russian ambassador during the Presidential campaign. He recused himself on Thursday from any investigation into alleged interference by Russia into the election.
This comes as senators like Kamala Harris are calling for Sessions to resign. Meanwhile in Sacramento, state lawmakers are still reeling from last week’s removal of Sen. Janet Nguyen from the Senate floor for her comments on Thomas Hayden.
Lawmakers will also need to be more careful about doing government business in private communications following a ruling Thursday by the California Supreme Court. State Government Reporter Ben Bradford has all this and more in this week’s Capitol Chat.
