Shortage Of Maternal Healthcare Creates Crises In Parts Of California

  

There is a dire shortage of maternal healthcare in some parts of California.

Eight counties lack even a single licensed obstetrician-gynecologist, and 11 other counties don’t have enough to meet the needs of the community.

We’ll talk with CALmatters journalist Minerva Canto about the shortage of OB/GYN physicians in California, as well as the inadequate response by lawmakers to let certified nurse midwives fill the gap.
