California Governor Jerry Brown gives his annual State of the State address Thursday. Capital Public Radio will carry it live beginning at 10 a.m. Capitol Bureau Chief Ben Adler joins us live from the Assembly floor to preview the address.
Sammy Nuñez is the executive director of Fathers and Families of San Joaquin and represents people struggling with poverty in Stockton. He joins Insight with a wish list of policies he’d like to see the governor highlight in the State of the State.
There has been a major resurgence of vinyl during the past few years. Not only has it impacted the generation that grew up with vinyl -– Baby Boomers. But vinyl’s also had an impact on Generation X and The Millennials.
“Building the Golden Gate Bridge,” by Harvey Schwartz, is the first book to use words of workers to tell how they built the iconic bridge. Through oral histories, the book tells of the small pleasures and grueling physical conditions workers faced.
