Dr. Keith Watenpaugh is Professor of the Modern Middle East at UC Davis and the Director of the UC Davis Human Rights Initiative.  His work in studying refugees took him to Istanbul, Turkey in June and then to camps along the Turkey/Syrian Border.  He’s just back from the trip and will describe what he witnessed and learned.

American River College’s Ad Lumen Press is releasing three new books this summer from fiction writer Lois Ann Abraham, microfiction writer Jason Sinclair Long, and poet Daniel Rounds. The authors will read from their work and sign books this Thursday at Time Tested Books in Sacramento. Poet Daniel Rounds joins us ahead of the signing to talk about his latest work.

The iconic reggae group “The Wailers” is performing the iconic album "Legend" in its entirety Wednesday, July 16 at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City. Lead vocalist Dwayne "Danglin" Anglin joins us ahead of the show. This is the only Northern California performance by the band.
