Fungus Foray: Fires can be devastating in many ways, but not when it comes to creating great conditions for fungi. It’s expected to be a banner year for mushroom collectors and if you’re a novice, there’s a great event happening this weekend to bring you up to speed. The Yuba Watershed Institute’s 16th annual Fungus Foray will be held in Nevada County Dec. 21 and Dec. 22. Daniel Nicholson talks about collecting and identifying wild mushrooms.
Living Wild: If you’ve ever wanted a guide to the many uses of California native plants, “Living Wild: Gardening, Cooking and Healing with Native Plants of California” is the book for you.
