Insight: Impact of Climate Change on Storms / Kushman by the Bottle / "Shrek"

Impact of Climate Change on Storms A climate negotiator from the Philippines pleaded for the world to take serious action in combating global warming during UN climate talks Monday in Warsaw. Typhoons like Haiyan are exceptional in their strength, but less severe tropical storms hit the South Pacific island nation on average eight to nine times a year and are expected to increase in severity because of climate change. Now, in the wake of Haiyan (and last year's Super storm Sandy in the Eastern United States), people are asking a little more seriously whether climate change is fueling extreme weather around the world. Joining us to help answer this question is UC Davis Assistant Professor Paul Ullrich, who develops models for the influence of climate change on extreme weather.
