Sound Advice: Beach Boys Chris English
has shot still photography for a wide variety of topics ranging from entertainment, sports, military and European lifestyle, but he’s still probably best known for his iconic concert photos. In 1972, Sacramento-based English had a rare opportunity to photograph all the current Beach Boys at a Memorial Auditorium concert. This type of photos he got were so rare that English’s work is now being included in a new Beach Boys box set featuring 40 unreleased tracks. And to celebrate, English is showing his work at the Sacramento Rock and Radio Museum this Saturday. Chris English joins us for this weeks’ Sound Advice with some of the previously unreleased tracks from the Beach Boys and some stories from his photo shoot at Memorial Auditorium in the early 70’s.
