Capitol Chat Leaders from California cities are meeting in Sacramento this week. Capitol reporter Katie Orr joins us to discuss some of the issues cities are concerned about. We'll also talk about the ruling in favor of California's low emissions fuel standard and the park's commission.
Chris Brubeck Renowned jazz soloist Chris Brubeck returns to Insight with more of his music as he prepares for a tribute concert to his father –and legendary jazz musician- Dave Brubeck. Chris will be playing with his brother Dan and the rest of the Brubeck Quartet at The Harris Center for the Arts this Thursday.
"River City Anthology" The story of Sacramento will be told through poetry when the Actor's Theatre of Sacramento presents "River City Anthology." Directed by Ed Claudio, this new production features more than 30 poetic pieces written by members of the Sacramento Poetry Society. We'll talk with Claudio about the show that opens this Friday and runs through Oct. 20th. We'll also hear from poet Bob Stanley, who contributed to the piece.
Sound Advice: Jazz In this week's Sound Advice, Jazz Music Director Gary Vercelli introduces us to some witty lyrics and a great new flute CD. Yep, that's right. Jazz flute. We'll hear songs from Blossom Dearie, Dave Frishberg, Mose Allison and Lorraine Feather, plus we'll get a sample from the Ali Ryerson Jazz Flute Big Band.
