Lake Tahoe Summit
Political leaders from California and Nevada - even a former vice president - are converging on the north shore of Lake Tahoe today to discuss plans for preserving the natural beauty of the lake. Former Vice President Al Gore, California Governor Jerry Brown and Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval are participating in the Lake Tahoe Summit
, with Gore delivering the key note speech. The summits have taken place yearly in Tahoe since President Bill Clinton and Al Gore initiated the first gathering there more than 15 years ago. This year’s focus is expected to be the effects of climate change on Lake Tahoe. Capital Public Radio’s State Government Reporter Katie Orr
is at the summit and joins us with more information.
Future of Newspapers

have? We'll discuss these topics with former editor of "The Sacramento Bee" Rick Rodriguez
"Grape & Gourmet"
Imagine tasting all of California's best wines under one roof. That's exactly what you can do this Thursday at Cal Expo's "Grape & Gourmet."
The event features award-winning wines from around the state, including gold-medal winners from this year's California State Fair Commercial Wine Competition.
"In the Mood"
Celebrating its 20 anniversary, "In the Mood" returns to the Harris Center at Folsom Lake College
beginning Aug. 27. The upbeat, all-singing-all-dancing-all-American celebration of Swing Jazz is much more than a concert. "In the Mood" presents a retro 1940s big band revue featuring singers and dancers with the sensational String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra.
