Stockton's Mayor The mayor of Stockton has been facing intense opposition in recent weeks, and some critics say he’s to blame. Mayor Anthony Silva publicly criticized fellow city council members and the city manager ahead of a vote for putting a tax proposition on the ballot for the fall. His comments in that council meeting led to an investigation into allegations he illegally recorded a conversation with the city manager, and now people are talking about recalling Silva less ten months after being elected. We'll talk with the mayor today about these issues and what it's like to do his job.
Driverless Cars You already let your car control shifting, braking and cruising speed, so why not let it do the driving too? Automakers and Silicon Valley engineers have the technology to create self-driving cars and trucks but they need California to craft the regulations for testing whether these vehicles are road ready. Robocar engineers and safety regulators recently converged at Stanford to figure out what these regulations might look like and Capital Public Radio’s State Government Reporter Katie Orr was on site. She joins us to explain how self-driving cars work and what safety testing for these robocars will look like in California.

The three-day festival features a plethora of musical acts performing at Cisco Campground, along the Yuba River outside Truckee. Guitarfish starts Friday and runs through Sunday.
