FBI Raids Legislative Office The FBI raided the legislative office California State Senator Ron Calderon yesterday. Not much is know and the Senator has referred comment to his lawyer. The last time the FBI raided lawmakers’ offices was in 1988, in a bribery scandal dubbed "Shrimpscam." We’ll talk about it with Jim Ashford, who was legislative counsel at the time. We’ll also get an update on this latest investigation from Capitol Bureau Chief Ben Adler.
Red Cross Volunteer Cynthia Olson of Sacramento is an American Red Cross volunteer who has just returned from a 12-day deployment to Oklahoma to support tornado disaster relief efforts. She will speak to us in-studio about her experiences as a member of the Disaster Spiritual Care team that works to provide comfort to those in shelters and have been impacted by this disaster.
Marcos Breton Sacramento Bee columnist Marcos Breton joins us for his regular monthly segment. We'll talk with him about changes in the Sacramento Kings organization and his most recent column about a woman whose brother's remains were lost in Korea. "My Facebook Friends" David Lobenberg is a watercolor and acrylic artist whose work has been shown in several galleries in California and been used for such organizations as the Sacramento Kings and the Sacramento Food Bank. This summer, starting on Saturday, his most recent collection will be shown at the Tim Collom Gallery in Midtown. Today he'll speak with us about this new collection, called "My Facebook Friends," which features watercolor portraits of Sacramento personalities.
The Secret Lives of Squirrels Founded in 2009 by Jason Roberts, The Secret Lives of Squirrels is Sacramento rock band with a band policy that includes beer everytime a fan asks a question about squirrels. We'll meet the band and hear them perform live in our studio. They are releasing the band's first record this Friday with a release party at the Fox and Goose in Sacramento on Saturday.
