Shane Stay is the author of the book, "Why American Soccer Isn't There Yet," which looks at ways the American soccer program can improve. Stay is a comic, producer and the creator of Leaf salad dressing. He was also a pro soccer player who lived and played in Spain, Holland and Brazil. His book called “Why American Soccer Isn’t There Yet” says the U.S. can contend for a World Cup if American soccer would only change an awful lot. With Sac Republic playing its first league home game Saturday night, it's a good time to talk about American soccer and Stay's point of view.
